About CIDA
CIDA provides support to individuals and businesses working, or looking to work, in the creative sector. Our clients range from artists, musicians and photographers to fast growing companies involved in every type of creative, cultural or digital activity imaginable. Our aim is to help you improve your ability to earn directly from your creativity. What do we mean by 'support'? It can mean a number of things - a chance to talk to someone in the same boat as you at a network event; access to specialist workshops to help you with those all important business survival skills; giving you the skills to hide your nerves and present your work effectively; or perhaps, what you really need is a mentor - someone independent who can help you make contacts, point you in the right direction, someone you can bounce ideas off, who'll give you encouragement and help keep your thinking fresh. The support we offer is tailored to you. Your first face to face contact with CIDA will be meeting with an experienced creative professional who will help you assess exactly what you need and then put you in contact with someone who will work closely with you to help you achieve your goals. Our mentors are creative professionals with specialist experience in the many and diverse areas of the creative industries. Many of our mentors are previous clients and can understand, and empathise with, the difficulties you face. If you: * are interested in developing a career in the creative industries * are looking for support in creating or growing a creative business * want to break into foreign markets, but don't know how * are already working in the creative industries and need some professional advice, training or personal development * are stuck creatively, need some help and a fresh eye * feel isolated because you work on your own as a creative person CIDA can help you.
