Products range from Small Commissions, Paintings and Furniture though to large Architectural Features and Public Artworks on an International scale. Our work is featured in Bars, Hotels & Restaurants through to Cruise Liners, Public Squares, and New Build apartments.
2) Do you make a living from your creativity?
Yes this is/was my sole income, otherwise I wouldn’t consider it as a full time profession and business, more of a hobby.
3) What route did you take to get where you are now? (i.e. placement, unpaid , volunteer, jobs through a friend etc)
While self-employed I was invited on a number of occasions to deliver seminars and workshops around the north of England for various organisations. This led onto mentoring with creative businesses and individuals
4) Do you supplement your creative job with other jobs?
No, I felt that if I did have a second job this would dilute my ambition and drive. I would become reliant upon a regular wage, which wouldn’t be productive.
5) Describe a typical day in your life
Very busy!!
6) Do you have relevant qualifications? If so what and have they helped?
I am trained as a Product designer this has helped me to understand the importance of keeping to a deadline, managing budgets and costing out a project
7) Anything you would have done differently if you could?
No.
8) Do you/did you have a mentor or someone whose work/career inspired you? If so who and why?
I was supported by PYBT and was assigned an advisor/mentor (Ken Dutton). Although he wasn’t from the creative sector or particularly inspiring he was always there when I needed support, a sounding board or a shoulder to cry on!
