The public is being given open access to over 50 top artists at work in traditional artists' studios and at prestigious gallery spaces during the Huddersfield Open Studio Trail 2006 - HOST 06 - from Friday November 17 to Sunday November 19.
The dazzling array of creations on view will range from quirky jewllery, to contemporary outdoor furniture and hip womenswear.
As well as the chance to watch the artists at work, there will be the opportunity to buy or commission a unique creation from digital art to ceramics, textiles, paintings and much more.
Visitors to HOST06, which runs alongside the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival (HCMF), can even have a go themselves at one of the workshops being run by the West Yorkshire Print Workshop in Mirfield.
HOST06 is organised by the Creative Industries Development Agency (CIDA), which has overseen a remarkable growth in the event since it was first staged three years ago.
Venues throwing open their doors to the public for the weekend include Stansfields in Almondbury, Huddersfield University, Radiant Works, Bates Mill, Kirklees Media Centre and Huddersfield Art Gallery.
The North Light Gallery will showcase over 50 more of the region’s best creative talents in a special HOST exhibition in the prestigious gallery at Armitage Bridge.
The HOST:06 trail also leads to artists working just outside the town in Slaithwaite, Marsden, Armitage Bridge, Holme and Honley.
Tickets are not required and the public can go to any venue over the weekend for free and there will even be a free bus operating along the trail.
Free parties will also be staged at each venue to launch HOST06 during a public preview night on Friday November 17.
The HOST:06 Brochures and posters are now available, if you would like to distribute any or put some posters up, please contact Carmen on 01484 483146 to arrange.
