Humberside
I love this image of the Humber bridge. I love the symmetry and simple lines but most of all, the angle. At first glance I didn't even know it was a bridge, but once it clicked, I saw how the shot really demonstrates the magnitude of the structure and the span if covers and points us forward as though we ourselves are about to cross the bridge.
North Yorkshire
York Minster and a City emblem – a really symbolic image of York with a modern interpretation. All the elements, it says York (literally), has a crest and shows York's most famous landmark. I like the two strong circular elements of the composition and the sharp focus of the emblem contrasting with the soft, impressionistic quality of the building behind.
West Yorkshire
Pointed domes, a sprinkling of snow, dawn over Russia, Poland? Can you believe this is the roof tops of Wakefield? I don't know Wakefield, but this frosty, mysterious image makes me want to find out more.
South Yorkshire
Fantastic, this image of the Stairs at the Millennium Gallery Sheffield could be the entrance to a space craft! Although we do cover the traditional views of the region, our aim is to do much more than that. We want to challenge people's perception of Yorkshire, to show how you can get the best of both worlds….. cosmopolitan cities on a Friday night and Sunday afternoons in traditional villages and countryside.
