Visual Arts & Contacts Database: 24 Hour Museum, the UK's online hub for information about culture, heritage and the visual arts
This initiative has been funded by the Arts Council National Visual Arts programme for the next
three years.
About the 24 Hour Museum:
- Publish articles daily about arts and heritage in the UK. Our site gets at least one million visitors a month, from all over the UK and internationally
- Provide a marketing platform by enabling galleries and artist groups to list their own events, exhibitions, educational resources and information via our free Direct Data Entry system (DDE)
- Syndicate data from these sources to our other websites including Show Me (our children's site) and City Heritage Guides as well as other external websites and agencies including VisitBritain
24 Hour Museum are going through a radical change at the moment – one that will see the word
'museum' disappear from the name and a new site emerge, reflecting the depth and breadth of
contemporary and historical culture in the UK. They have a whole new dedicated Arts section
featuring Contemporary Art – and need organisations - and particularly studios and arts venues to
engage with them to make it happen. The launch of the new site begins early next year, and in the
months running up to that date, they will be aiming to get as many institutions up and running with
DDE as possible.
To make this happen, the 24 Hour Museum would like to contact as many galleries, studios and
visual arts organisations as they can - directly or indirectly - and get them set up with entries
in our database together with usernames and passwords so that they can begin to enter their events
and make use of the 24 Hour Museum's facilities.
To get started, all you need to do is email art@24hourmuseum.org.uk or click here to go to our sector pages and learn about what we can offer.
