Find out more about Raw Talent Introducing, a gig coming to the Carling Academy in Sheffield this December...
Raw Talent is about to bring the best in unsigned bands and local talent to one of South Yorkshire’s top rock venues.
The show from BBC Radio Sheffield is getting out of the studio and going on the road for one night only, showcasing the best South Yorkshire has to offer.
We’ve teamed up with Higher Rhythm, the not-for-profit company based in Doncaster that provides access to the music industry.
We’re staging a Raw Talent Introducing gig at the Carling Academy in Sheffield in December. The whole show will be recorded by engineers from Higher Rhythm and played out over the following weeks on Thursday night’s Raw Talent.
Iain Hodgson, Raw Talent presenter, said: “This is a great gig and a wonderful opportunity for unsigned bands and artists in the region.
“Its not just about appearing at the Carling Academy and on Raw Talent – there’s a good chance that some of the acts could be picked up by Radio 1 or the Reading and Leeds festivals, which feature a BBC Introducing stage.”
The line up for the show will be decided over the next few weeks by Iain and our partners at Higher Rhythm.
Iain added: “I’m going to be giving more details out over the next few weeks on Raw Talent so anyone interested should keep listening to the show. We’re very excited about the event. It promises to be the biggest concert of unsigned bands ever seen in South Yorkshire.”
Details of the line up and how you can get tickets for the gig will be included on this website in the near future.
Raw Talent. Every Thursday night, 7-10pm. BBC Radio Sheffield. On FM 88.6, 104.1 and 94.7.
