Created by Yorkshire Forward, the KnowledgeRICH service was designed to provide assistance to science and technology businesses, allowing them to develop and excel, by forging a relationship between business and the best expertise and facilities on offer from the region's universities.

KnowledgeRICH provides a single point of access to the vast range of experts and cutting-edge science and technology facilities in Yorkshire's universities. KnowledgeRICH is a free service, open to a wide range of business types, large and small, in sectors as diverse as food science and textiles and ceramics.  The KnowledgeRICH network of university specialists has a track record in working with businesses and helping them grow, developing new manufacturing processes, new products, new technologies.

KnowledgeRICH exists for five main reasons.

• Where traditional industries have historically defined the region, trade and commerce in Yorkshire and Humberside, to ensure a sustainable, prosperous future, businesses must innovate.  Innovation, the development of new processes, products and technologies, is going to be vital in the success of new and growing businesses, and the improvement and sustainability of established ones
