Creative arts and expression have always inspired me as a way of release and therapy, as well as
being a joy.
I trained as a dancer and unfortunately suffered from an eating disorder, partly trying to
achieve the ‘perfect ballet body’ (which is a myth!).
I discovered that dancing and writing poetry and journals helped me through this time, and my
experience with the eating disorder led me to train as a dance therapist and counsellor.
One of my counselling diplomas was very creative in nature, and I experienced many creative
ways of working.
I then went on to do a degree in drama and carried on dancing for some years, and training
further in pilates, as well as teaching drama and body conditioning and movement.
Presently I am training in psychoanalytic/psychodynamic psychotherapy, and working as a
psychotherapist as well as facilitating workshops and groups for therapists and clients in dance
therapy and working creatively in therapy and with particular issues as well as taking one to one
clients for dance therapy as psychotherapy/counselling.
I am presently undertaking some research based around eating disorders/disordered eating and
spirituality.
I am available to facilitate workshops and groups in east and south Yorkshire, and am open to
consider particular issues/themes by request.
