Artist Profile - Mark Barrett
Mark Barrett is a self proclaimed Dark Artist. Specialising in the sinister and macabre,
inspirations are drawn from areas as wide as film and nineteenth century horror literature. After
studying at Huddersfield Technical COllege, freelance illustration was a natural choice for Barrett
who used academic training alongside in-depth study of top illustrators such as Tim Burton and
Sandrine Replat.
Despite a fondness for the supernatural and foreboding, Mark portfolio ranges from detailed
portraits to the abstract and emotive. Skilled in a wide range of mediums from traditional
photography, acrylic and charcoal to modern digital design technology.
