Creative and talented but working in a role that just isn't you?
The Creative Futures programme will arm job seekers with the skills to make the most of their
talent.
Crucially, the programme will equip participants to make the right lasting impression at
interview, create a CV which is top of the 'yes' pile and teach them valuable presentation skills
to blow interviewers away.
Not only is this a fabulous opportunity to learn and develop essential skills targeted
specifically to boost your chances of furthering your career but Creative Futures could lead to
level III qualification (equal to an A/S Level) Creative Futures will kick off with a Careers Day
on May 15th 2007 in Huddersfield giving participants the chance to talk to leading creative
specialists, get more details about the programme and get a taster of the workshops leading to the
qualification.
Every attender will have the opportunity for a one to one session with an experienced mentor
helping them to create an action plan taking them one step closer to achieving their dream job.
Fifty candidates will win a place on an 8 week training course for 16 hours per week, where
through creative practice (film, theatre, music and IT) they will develop employability skills
including project planning, problem solving, customer service skills, communication skills, team
work and portfolio development.
Course tutors are leading industry practitioners including Ken George from KGB Productions,
Michael Addison from Figment Theatre, Paul Pryce from Just Addictive Music and Brian Cross of
Artimedia Huddersfield.
In addition candidates will have the opportunity to meet and impress well established
Kirklees businesses and potential employers from the creative and digital sector and a number of
high profile placement opportunities will be offered to selected candidates.
The Creative Futures programme is run by CIDA (Creative Industries Development Agency) and is
funded by the LSC, via Kirklees Metropolitan Council.
