The date for your diary for the Third Annual Creative York Symposium is confirmed for 19 October 2006. The event will run from 9am – 5pm at the Yorkshire Museum, Museum Gardens, York.
The Creative York Symposium, on the theme of 'Stimulating the Creative City', aims to explore how creative entrepreneurs and practitioners are injecting innovation and enterprise into the economy.
The programme brings together a group of international speakers - all of whom have had experience in planning, delivering and living in cities which are recognised for their creative approach to development and change. These presentations will cover issues such as the opportunities for design and planning for the way residents and businesses engage with their urban environment, new interpretations of city heritage, the role of public art and festivals, and considering specific city models of redevelopment that have had creativity as a theme in their implementation.
The 2006 Creative York Symposium aims to provide an opportunity for the discussion of ideas between Creative York members and leading representatives in the creative industries, as well as the opinion formers within York. In addition to the talks there will be three workshops on the creative technology, heritage and the built environment, which will offer an opportunity for all delegates to contribute to the debate.
