MODULE 1: AN INTRODUCTION TO FORUM THEATRE

CONTENT Based on the unique theatre form developed by Augusto Boal, this practical training course in Forum Theatre is aimed at those wishing to apply its use in arts, education, community, health, business or social settings. Discover how to apply the techniques in a controlled group situation, learn how to produce a piece of Forum Theatre and explore its possible applications for your own professional objectives.
WHO IS IT FOR? Professionals interested in using the applications of Forum Theatre as a tool for conflict resolution/skills development/consultation and discussion. Of value to health professionals, YOTs, Youth Justice, Victim Support, community outreach and social workers, drama practitioners, teachers and students.

MODULE 2: EXPLORATORY LABORATORY ON THEATRE OF THE OPPRESSED (TO) AND STORYTELLING

CONTENT: This is the inaugural summer theatre laboratory run by Figment Theatre C.I.C. Drawing upon the experience gained by Figment over the past ten years, this laboratory will be focusing on the practical relationships between, and applications of, Augusto Boal's Theatre of the Oppressed (TO) and a range of Story Telling techniques. How do we tell, encourage and listen to stories? What are the possibilities for combining these practices in performance and workshop settings in a safe environment? Participants will have the opportunity to gain new insights into their working practice, develop new skills, explore different approaches using TO and storytelling, and share experiences with a diverse range of other professionals.
WHO IS IT FOR? Theatre practitioners, teachers, students and those with some previous knowledge of Augusto Boal's techniques.
