Recollections of time past
John Allcock
Collages of marine materials incorporating old family photographs—images are of events which exist on the bare fringes of memory, and as much the "debris" of life as are the other objects.
"With its resonance of Marcel Proust's work, the title of this exhibition draws attention to the insecure relationship which we have to memory..... I am engaged in a kind of 'archaeology' of the self, using found objects collected on the Norfolk coast, close to where I spent my early childhood."
Exhibition open daily: 6-28 May (except Mondays) 12-3 pm.
