SCREEN YORKSHIRE LAUNCHES ITS DIGITAL SHORTS SCHEME FOR 2006/07
Screen Yorkshire is pleased to announce its Digital Shorts programme for 2006/07 CAUGHT SHORT – the short filmmaking scheme for region’s emerging talent.
We are looking for the region's best and most innovative filmmakers who can demonstrate new and exciting approaches to filmmaking. Films can be of any genre including those within fiction, animation, creative documentaries as well as projects that cut across these categories.
Screen Yorkshire will select 8 projects for this years scheme to be made on a budget of approximately £9,000.
We welcome applications from writers, directors, producers, writer/directors and writer/producers. We also encourage applications from writer/director/producer teams.
Please note if you have received a Digital Shorts Commission before, you are only eligible to apply again if you are applying in a different capacity (for example, if you have previously been a director on the scheme and you are now seeking to apply as a writer). However, directors, writers, writer/directors and producers who have previously participated in Caught Short Focus are eligible to apply in the same capacity.

OPPORTUNITY TWO
SCREEN YORKSHIRE LAUNCHES SPARK - FEATURE SCRIPT DEVELOPMENT SCHEME
Screen Yorkshire is pleased to announce the launch of its script development scheme for 2006/07. SPARK is open to writers with a genuine passion to develop their feature film script skills. This year the scheme is divided in to two parts.
PART ONE: One day script development workshops
A leading industry professional in script development will conduct 3 workshops around the Yorkshire and Humber region in mid July. These workshops are free to attend and will provide grounding in writing marketable feature film scripts.
- Showroom Cinema, Sheffield on 16th July
- York St Johns University, York on 17th July
- NMPFT, Bradford on 18th July
(All sessions will be run 10.00am – 5.00pm)
Places on these sessions are limited therefore booking is essential. To book please complete an online registration form available on the productions section of the SY website. Alternatively please email helenp@screenyorkshire.co.uk.

PART TWO: Writing a feature film treatment
Following the above workshops we will invite regional writers to submit their feature film ideas. The deadline for applications is 31 August 2006
