Fantastic opportunity for a six month work placement with Hoot, starting immediately.
Hoot offers a range of opportunities for people to get involved in music, dance and other
creative activities as a way of improving physical and emotional wellbeing. Hoot holds the contract
for delivering the arts element of the new mental health and wellbeing service in Kirklees.
We can offer a placement of up to 4 days + 1 study day to assist the Projects Manager of
this busy and successful arts charity and budding social enterprise.
The job description is developed in the first 6 weeks to meet the needs of the
placement/trainee and the organisation, but is likely to include some of the following:
- Developing existing contractual arrangements with Hoot Associate Artists
- Taking some responsibility for the forthcoming annual evaluation of the Hoot artistic
programme
- Involvement in design, publicity and promotion of Hoot and its artistic programme
- A support role in Hoot’s groups: Offering artistic support and supporting participants to be
involved in sessions
As well as gaining valuable experience in this busy organisation, Hoot should be able to offer
some mentoring/shadowing with an artist (or artists) in your chosen art form.
As well as music (including studio) and dance activities, Hoot will, from September, in
partnership with Aim (Artists in Mind), be delivering projects in creative writing, drama, visual
arts, and video, with Beaumont Street Studios.
