West Yorkshire Print Workshop, 75a Huddersfield Road, Mirfield, WF14 8AT
West Yorkshire Print Workshop (WYPW) is looking to recruit new members for its Board of
Directors.
Would you like to support the Arts and Cultural Heritage of West Yorkshire? Do you have time to
attend six or seven meetings a year and develop the West Yorkshire Print Workshop and its
contribution to Arts in Yorkshire?
The current board of six is seeking to widen the range of expertise within the group.
West Yorkshire Print Workshop
WYPW is an artist led organization that provides individual studios, production facilities for
printmaking, training in printmaking and related crafts, and exhibition opportunities. It was set
up in the early 1980s and has facilities for both traditional and emerging areas of fine art
printmaking. A number of membership schemes cater for the needs of people with all levels of skill
in the field.
Core Funded by the Arts Council, WYPW appointed two new part time workers in 2007, joining a
long term technician, to take the organisation forward. Their tasks are to expand the range and
quality of our programmes and services offered and support the Board of Directors in their aim to
develop the significance of the organisation regionally, nationally, and in the long term,
internationally.
WYPW is based in a leased church building in Mirfield, West Yorkshire. It aims to work with
local agencies to establish the necessary partnerships to develop and maintain artist's workspace.
Our vision is a landmark development for working artists with full public access.
WYPW is looking to increase the skills and diversity of its board of directors. We are
looking for people excited by the idea of engaging with an evolving, ambitious organization, who
can bring with them a range of skills and professional experience in any of the following
areas:
- Finance and funding
- Building industry
- Legal skills
- PR, Press and marketing
- Local authority/Urban regeneration
- Change management
- Education and Training
WYPW is an Equal Opportunities employer. We would welcome applicants from Black or ethnic
minority backgrounds, who are currently under-represented at Board level within arts organisations.
Experience of previous Board membership is not necessary, as a full induction process will be
offered to prospective members.
